Morgan O. Carnes

Ms. Carnes is a fourth-year medical student at the Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston Salem.  She grew up in Charlotte then completed her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Kinesiology and Spanish at Occidental College in California.  After working for a risk-based health system as an Associate of Population Health in Chicago, Ms. Carnes returned to NC for medical school.  Her exposure to family medicine during her first interest group meeting on campus led to involvement in every family medicine experience possible.  Ms. Carnes has served as FMIG President at Wake Forest, participated in the NCAFP Western Rural Health Immersion Program in Hendersonville, and has attended the annual WFPW and Family Medicine Day every year. She currently serves as Student Director on the NCAFP Board. Outside of her academics, Ms. Carnes is a board member on the Student Well-Being Advisory Board at Wake Forest, is a certified Health Coach, registered Yoga Teacher and Regional Director for Health Made Simple, through which she leads educational workshops on whole-food nutrition for her community.
