Bringing CME to You – Recent Wilmington CME Event is Another Success

Last week’s regional CME dinner opportunity proved to be another success when approximately 30 Wilmington-area members participated in the NCAFP’s new 30 Minute Exchanges | Exploring Hot Topics CME format. Hosted in Wrightsville Beach, the program featured a light reception, a terrific three-course dinner, and 1.5 AAFP Prescribed Credits. In addition to a brief NCAFP update by NCAFP President Dr. Alisa Nance and EVP Greg Griggs, attendees garnered fresh perspectives and valuable pearls on the topics of human trafficking, opioid use disorder, and immigrant health. As summed up by one member’s poignant comment about her top take-away from the evening, this new format appears to be accomplishing more than just convenient CME; “Connecting with other like-minded family docs tackling challenging issues, I left inspired and with a renewed interest in the NCAFP.” We warmly invite you to register soon and be inspired by Family Medicine at our next local CME and networking opportunity, “The Essentials of Managing Common Chronic Diseases in Family Medicine.” This half-day program, being held at the Hampton Inn at Brier Creek in Raleigh on Saturday, October 12, from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, will highlight treatment for obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Registration fees are only $80 per person and include a continental breakfast, light refreshments, and 4.00 AAFP Prescribed CME credits. Online registration and additional details are available now at the NCAFP website. Contact Kathryn Atkinson, CMP, Manager of NCAFP Meetings & Events, at katkinson@ncafp.com or via direct dial at 919-214-9058 with questions. We hope to see you there!
