Student Director-Elect
Ryan Taylor is a third-year medical student at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM). He was born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC, and went on to attend NC State University, graduating in December of 2020 with an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences – Human Biology Concentration and a minor in Psychology. During his one-and-a-half gap years, he continued to serve as a medical assistant at Alliance Medical Ministry, a PCMH for uninsured patients in Wake County, and concluded over three years of volunteering and employment with them. Ryan served as president of the CUSOM Family Medicine Club, FMIG and SA-ACOFP, for the 2023-24 school year. He is most proud of assisting 10+ students in attending both the 2023 (Orlando) and 2024 (New Orleans) ACOFP National Conferences because of the fundraising efforts of his team and through working with NCAFP and NCS-ACOFP. This funding afforded students an accessible opportunity to learn from and connect with Family Medicine physicians from around the country. He also participated in the NCAFP’s Family Medicine Summer Rural/Underserved Externship with Atrium Cabarrus. Additionally, he has stayed active in both local and international outreach opportunities with his school, volunteering with the Campbell University Community Care Clinic (CUCCC) in Duplin County, NC, and traveling abroad in Guatemala and Ghana on mission trips. For his third and fourth year of school, Ryan has now moved to Morganton, NC, and is rotating with physicians at UNC Blue Ridge. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, volunteering with his church in the area, hiking, and driving the mountain roads.
