NCAFP Offers Virtual CME Session in September 2026!

By Kathryn Atkinson, CMP
NCAFP Events & CME Director

On Sept. 9 and Sept. 12, the NCAFP will host the Tri-Diagnosis: Pain, Use Disorder, and Mood Disturbance Virtual Webinar in partnership with the Governor’s Institute. This virtual CME session will explore common psychiatric diagnoses that occur alongside chronic pain and substance use disorder, review the clinical risks associated with these overlapping conditions, and discuss practical strategies for assessment and management in the primary care setting. Learning from expert guest faculty (and NCAFP member) Dr. Michael Baca-Atlas, attendees will gain a realistic, patient-centered approach to navigating these difficult encounters and learn how to safely incorporate pharmacologic treatment options into comprehensive care plans.

This event also doubles the CME opportunities by offering two separate sessions: one on Sept. 9 at 5:45 p.m., and one on Sept. 12 at 8:45 a.m. Registration for this virtual CME is available here.
