Beginning on May 19, 10 Family Medicine residents joined NCAFP staff to begin the inaugural Advocacy and Policy Bootcamp! This new program prepares them to understand and undertake big-picture Family Medicine advocacy in North Carolina and beyond.
Throughout this week, the participants have learned legislative insights from NCAFP lobbyists at the Raleigh Group, met with their lawmakers during the White Coat Wednesday event, learned to advocate with NC health care payers, and enjoyed other parts of the savvy Family Medicine advocacy that the NCAFP practices year-round. The program ended today after a meeting with NC Dept. of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Devdutta Sangvai. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and thank you to these NC Family Medicine residencies who participated:
