DHHS Announces Expanded Regions for Carolina Complete Health

NC DHHS announced in early October that it has expanded the regions awarded to Carolina Complete Health Inc. (CCH) under the state’s transition to Medicaid managed care. In addition to serving Regions 3 and 5, Carolina Complete Health will also serve Region 4 that includes Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Nash, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake, Warren and Wilson Counties. The expansion for CCH, the only provider-led health plan among Medicaid’s 5 pre-paid health plans announced earlier this year, comes as a result of it working with DHHS to ensure the health plan is well-positioned to meet the state’s vision of providing a whole-person system of care. As a provider-led entity governed by physicians, CCH will bring a unique perspective to Medicaid. Additional information on the expansion is available online.
