Resident Director-Elect
Dr. Claire Namboodri is a PGY-2 Family Medicine resident at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Coastal Family Medicine Residency Program in Wilmington, NC. Originally from Cary, NC, she completed her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine through the accelerated FIRST Scholar Program, which allowed her to commit early to family medicine and transition directly into residency after three years of medical school. Before medical school, she served with MedServe, working in a rural North Carolina health department to expand access to care. Dr. Namboodri remained deeply engaged in organized medicine and advocacy throughout her training. Most recently, she was elected to represent residents nationwide in the AAFP Congress of Delegates and she is also a part of the AAFP Emerging Leaders Institute.
