Amanda Steventon, MD, FAAFP

Dr. Amanda Steventon is a family physician with a strong focus on full-spectrum medicine, practice management, and healthcare advocacy. Dr. Steventon earned her MD from the University of Kansas, completed her residency at Wesley Family Medicine in Wichita, KS. She practiced in rural Kansas for four years, operating her own family medicine practice from 2015 to 2019, before serving as an employed physician in rural North Carolina from 2019 to 2021. Currently, she practices at Avance Care in North Carolina in a semi-rural setting, where she is serving as Chief Medical Officer, having transitioned from Medical Director earlier this year, now enjoying the practice management role as well as clinical practice. Passionate about physician wellbeing, healthcare reform, and improvements in practice management, she has held leadership roles within the AAFP and her state chapter, including participation in the inaugural AAFP Leading Physician Wellbeing Scholars, AAFP ECHO for resident wellbeing education and NCAFP Advocacy Committee. Her dedication lies in advocating for healthcare models that promote excellent patient care and physician longevity, emphasizing the importance of wellness at every stage of a physician’s career.
