The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released a policy paper for health care providers earlier this week that contains guidance on the upcoming transition to Medicaid managed care that is expected to launch next year. Titled, “Supporting Provider Transition to Medicaid Managed Care,” the paper describes what Medicaid providers should expect during the upcoming transition, including guidance on enrolling and credentialing, contracting with health plans, and meeting Advanced Medical Home requirements. An associated free webcast describing the paper’s key points will be held this June. Visit DHHS’s Medicaid Transformation page for full details, dates and to register.
The NCAFP is continuing to evaluate the information in the paper and will be making suggestions to DHHS for additional assistance to help practices through the Medicaid transformation process.
