NC Medical Society Announces Plan for New Medicaid Managed Care Plan

The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) has announced its intent to create a new Medicaid managed care plan to offer “…a model of care that is patient-focused, physician-led, value-based and home grown..”

Known as Carolina Complete Health, NCMS is collaborating with the North Carolina Community Health Center Association and the Centene Corporation to establish, organize and operate the plan. NCMS and its partners will also create the Carolina Complete Health Network that will be jointly-owned and governed by NCMS, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and Federally Qualified Health Centers and will provide medical management services for the plan.

The new plan will submit a proposal when North Carolina issues its Request for Proposal for Medicaid managed care plans later this year.
