The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, or STFM, is offering a series of web-based courses designed to help orient International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to the U.S. health care system and graduate medical education. Although the course content is appropriate for all incoming residents, the self-study courses were developed specifically to help residents who are IMGs be well prepared when they begin their training in the United States. The courseware contains a series of modules on the US health care system, expectations of US patients, communication, residency operations and offers some success tips. There is a cost to residency programs for the course.
