The conference introduces 3rd- and 4th-year medical students to the state’s family medicine residency training programs.

About Family Medicine Day
North Carolina Family Medicine Day is designed to introduce medical students interested in family medicine to the state's diverse array of residency training programs. The event begins with a brief lunch and lecture, followed by 4-hours of clinical skills workshops taught by representatives of each North Carolina residency. The conference concludes with a fun and engaging recruiting fair featuring all NC family medicine residency programs.

- Basic Suturing Techniques
- IUD Insertions & Endometrial Biopsy
- Common Dermatology Procedures
- Splinting, Bracing and Casting
- EKG Reading Session
- Outpatient Radiology Film Review
- Lumbar Puncture
- Knee Examinations & Injections
- Ultrasound in OB and Sports Medicine
- OB Perineal Laceration Repair
Student Attendance Policies - The conference is designed for medical students graduating in either 2011 or 2012 who possess an interest in family medicine. All student attendees are provided a free overnight accommodations if needed. Students interested in attending who are not graduating in 2011 or 2012 will be placed on a reserve list, and pending available space, may be entered into a lottery to determine attendance invitation. North Carolina medical students will be given attendance preference over students from outside of North Carolina.
Student Hotel Reservations & Accommodations
All students attending the conference may take advantage of complimentary hotel accommodations at the Millennium Hotel. Students will be assigned individual hotel rooms based on a first-come/first-served basis and may be required to share a room. Student attendees are encouraged to share rooms with friends/colleagues where possible. Students requiring rooms must notify the NCAFP prior to April 21, 2010. All rooms are no-smoking with 2 queen-sized beds.

Registration
Registering for Family Medicine Day is easy. Student registration requires a $20 deposit that will be refunded on-site at the completion on the event for students completing required residency visitations. Registration can either be completed online or my mail/fax. See the links below.

Exhibiting
Family Medicine Day attracts M3 and M4 medical students who have a strong interest in family medicine. The event is open to family medicine residency programs, and other organizations serving this constituency. Exhibiting applications are below for those interested in participating.
