The Wake Forest University Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) was recently awarded $100.00 by the AAFP for increasing its student membership by 26% this academic school year. Wake Forest was an active participant in AAFP's student membership recruitment initiative that was launched last year. Each school utilized AAFP-supplied recruitment materials and named a student membership coordinator to help raise awareness of the benefits of membership and the breadth of family medicine.
