LOCAL PHYSICIAN GAINS RE-ELECTION

CITY NAME -{YOUR NAME}, {YOUR TITLE} of {CITY NAME} North Carolina has met the continuing medical education requirements necessary to be re-elected to the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians (The Academy). Members are required to complete 150 hours of continuing medical education every three years.

The Academy is the largest medical specialty organization in North Carolina, with over 2,600 members. The mission of the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians is to improve the health of patients, families, and communities by serving the needs of members with professionalism and creativity. To achieve this goal, the Academy addresses civic, political, social, and medical issues that affect its members.

Academy members can take advantage of continuing medical education conferences, on-line medical references, and practice management services. Members receive a monthly newsletter to keep them abreast of the changing medical environment and of legislative issues affecting their practices.

The North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians is a constituent chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). With more than 94,000 members, AAFP is the largest medical specialty organization in the country and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1997. It was the first national medical group to require members to meet continuing medical education requirements in order to retain membership.
