NCAFP Spring Family Physicians Weekend - April 19- 22, 2007
![]() A Great Venue for Quality CMEThe NCAFP 2007 Spring Meeting starts on Thursday evening, April 19, 2007 with optional workshops and the NCAFP Council meetings. General session lectures start Friday morning and end on Sunday morning. This format will allow registrants the flexibility to complete a full day of CME before heading out for fun and excitement in the quaint city of Charleston! The Embassy Suites North Charleston, SC is located only two miles from the Charleston International Airport. Guests will enjoy spacious two-room suites and receive a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast, a nightly manager’s reception and high speed internet access. Program Objectives & InformationPhysicians and other health care professionals will receive current information on diverse medical subjects pertinent to patient care. The sessions will highlight new advances and enhancements of clinical skills. Subject material was chosen based on assessed needs, future trends and the relevance to quality patient care through didactic seminars. Workshops are designed to teach skills valuable to family physicians. Syllabus & Materials - All participants will receive a complimentary syllabus, either as a traditional printed copy version, or a CD-Rom. For an additional charge of $20 registrants may also request to receive both styles. Please denote your selection on the registration form. If no choice is made, a Paper Syllabus will be provided. Workshops & SeminarsCosmetic Procedures Workshop & Demonstrations - Using various laser techniques, the faculty introduces attendees to laser surgery procedures including laser hair removal, wrinkle reduction, skin tightening, Botox, fillers and medical skin care. As a follow-up to the workshop, representatives will interactively demonstrate several different laser machines, as follows: laser hair removal, pigmented lesions and wrinkles with the GentleLase; use of the GentleYAG for leg and facial veins, laser hair removal, skin tightening and acne; and Ellipse 1²PL for skin rejuvenation and treatment of sun damage. Neurotransmitter Assessment Workshop - This workshop will provide an attendees with an overview of the interconnectedness of the neuroendocrine communication system; 2) identify the major neurotransmitters and their function; 3)understand the balance between the inhibitory and excitatory neurotransmitters and 4)explore strategies to replenish and balance the neuroendocrine system. Joint Injections Workshop - This workshop will provide attendees with hands-on approach to the most common types of joint injections. Sneak close up views of wading and shore birds, such as Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, Eastern Brown Pelicans, and Least Terns, in their natural habitat. A naturalist will discuss the habitats of the abundant wildlife as seen in Charleston's harbor estuaries. NC Academy of Family Physicians Reservations may be made in the following ways: Reservations must be received by Monday, March 19, 2007 to receive the discounted conference rate. Should requested accommodations not be available, the nearest available rate and accommodations will be assigned. Cancellation must be received 14 days prior to arrival. Check in time is 3:00pm/Check out is 12 Noon. Room tax is currently 12%. CME Accreditation InfoThis activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 22 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Evidence based credits for portions of the program are pending. |
