2010 Spring Meeting at Kingsmill Resort

The NCAFP is excited to announce that the 2010 Spring Meeting will be held at the beautiful Kingsmill Resort & Spa. CME Program Chair Dr. Sara O. Beyer is planning an excellent meeting, full of engaging topics, skill-building workshops and an array of social and business functions. Don't miss this event.

Program Objectives & Information

Physicians and other health care professionals will receive current information on diverse medical subjects pertinent to patient care. The sessions will highlight new advances and enhancements of clinical skills. Subject material was chosen based on assessed needs, future trends and the relevance to quality patient care through didactic seminars. Workshops are designed to teach skills valuable to family physicians.

Accreditation

Application for CME Credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. Evidence based credits for portions of the program are pending.

Syllabus & Materials

All participants will receive a complimentary syllabus in a CD Rom Format. Limited paper copies are available upon request at the Registration Desk.

ADA Compliance

The NCAFP will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act to offer this program to all interested parties regardless of any special needs they may have. Indicate on the registration form any special needs.

An Exciting Exhibit Hall in Williamsburg!

It Definitely Pays to Be In the Exhibit Hall! The NCAFP will be giving away $300 in cash drawings throughout the weekend as well as a $300 door prize on Sunday. Every CME Registrant is automatically entered into the Exhibit Hall Fishbowl for their chance to win during the random drawings. These drawings will be held during the scheduled breaks and during the Welcome Reception, you must be present to win. Door Prize winner must visit the Exhibit Hall Vendors and have their exhibitor card signed by the designated number of exhibitors to be eligible for the drawing. Not only will you find terrific giveaways in the Exhibit Hall, you will also find an excellent array of exhibitors in the exhibit hall, from pharmaceutical companies, to publishers, and electronic health records vendors and many more. Please spend time with the representatives and receive updated information on their products and services. Without their support of our meetings, our fees would be prohibitive.

Meet the Expert!

Immediately following each General Session Lecture, attendees can meet with the speaker to personally discuss further comments and questions about the topics presented. Attendees may ask questions related to specific patient cases, coding, practice recommendations, etc.

The NCAFP is happy to offer a limited block of discounted park tickets for Saturday to our attendees. Park Hours are 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday. Williamsburg Winery Tour -- Originally the Bland Plantation, the Williamsburg Winery is located on a 320-acrea farm bordering the James River. The idyllic setting is home to a wide variety of grape species used in creating numerous types of wine. Guests learn about Virginia's growing wine industry as they observe old-world style bottling procedures, aging cellars, and underground barrel rooms. Though some of the aspects of the fermentation process are centuries old, many have been incorporated with state-of-the-art wine making technology. Your tour includes a presentation on grape growing and winemaking. Then, enjoy a stroll through the barrel cellar and visit the production area. In the museum, you will enjoy a collection of unique and rare vintage wine bottles with a grand finale tasting of seven of the winery's finest wines. Our group tour time will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday and transportation is on your own. Tickets are $10.25 for adults.

There are essentially two room types available, Guest Rooms and Suites. The guest room is a typical hotel room or studio layout and the suite has a private bedroom, full size kitchen and a living room area. The Resort Rooms have a view of the golf course, the Deluxe rooms have a view of the tennis courts, and the River rooms have a view of the James River. All rooms include a private balcony or patio with coffee maker, in room safe, multi-line telephone & wireless internet. More descriptions are listed below.

Resort Guestrooms $149 per night -- Standard Resort guest rooms are located along the golf course and tennis courts and are a short walk to the sports club, spa and restaurants.(Resort Double Rooms also available - please ask the hotel for additional information.)

Deluxe King Guestrooms $159 per night -- Deluxe King Guestrooms are located in close proximity to the sports club, spa and restaurants on a bluff overlooking the Kingsmill Marina or Wareham's Pond. (Deluxe Double Rooms also available - please ask the hotel for additional information)

River King Guestroom $179.00 per night -- River guest rooms are located along the James River with commanding views of the river or the par 3 Bray Links golf course and are closest to the sports club, spa and restaurants.
