Come and enjoy beautiful Myrtle Beach while soaking up quality evidence-based CME. Program Chair Timothy J. McGrath, MD, attendees will enjoy a series of convenient half-day sessions featuring a variety of clinical topics Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am - 1:15 pm. General Information

Program Objectives & Information - Physicians and health care professionals will receive current information on diverse medical subjects pertinent to patient care. The sessions will highlight new advances and enhancements of clinical skills. Subject material was chosen based on assessed needs, future trends and the relevance to quality patient care. Didactic sesssions and workshops are each designed to teach skills valuable to family physicians.

Learning Materials & Syllabus - All participants will receive a complimentary syllabus in CD-ROM format. Limited paper copies will be available on request at the Registration Desk.

ADA Compliance - The NCAFP will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act to offer this program to all interested parties regardless of any special needs they may have. Indicate on the registration form any special needs.

Meet the Expert - Immediately following each General Session lecture, attendees can meet with the speaker to personally discuss further comments and questions about the topics presented. Attendees may ask questions related to specific patient cases, coding, practice recommendations, etc.

General Sessions Location - All conference educational programs will be held in the Brighton Conference Center located right next door to the Embassy Suites Hotel at Kingston Plantation.

Hotel Information

Kingston Plantation and Embassy Suites Hotel is a self-contained retreat located directly on the Atlantic coast. Health club, jogging trails, tennis courts, freshwater lakes, and a full-service restaurant and nightclub are located on the property. A block of rooms has been reserved by the NCAFP. The cut-off date for reserving your rooms at the group rate is June 2, 2010. Rooms requested after June 2, 2010 will be assigned on a space-available basis at prevailing rates. Rooms fill up quickly so register early! Be sure to mention the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians in order to receive the discounted room rate. Room rates for Saturday, July 4th – Saturday, July 10th are $235.00 plus tax/per night.

There is a variety of Condos and Villas available at the Kingston Plantation. Pricing ranges from $235.00 to $349.00 per night depending on size and location preferences. A complete price breakdown of these options is available on the Hotel page.

Hilton Hotel Resort – Overflow Property - Call (800) 445-8667 or 1-800-HILTONS. From Saturday, July 4 – Saturday July 10, rates are $195.00 plus tax. The Hilton is located next door to the Embassy Suites at 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.

Registration

Registration - Pre-registration is required. To register, mail or fax your registration form with your credit card number or check made payable to the NCAFP. Registration may also be completed online - safely and securely. Completed registration forms should either include a check made payable to the NCAFP or contain a credit card number with an expiration date. Registration forms received after June 4, 2010 will be processed at the regular registration rate. The official Refund Deadline is June 4, 2010. Refund requests must be made in writing and a $75.00 administrative fee will be retained. No refunds will be issued after June 22, 2010. To receive our Early Bird Registration rate, registrants must complete the online registration process or fax/mail your completed registration form with full payment to NCAFP before June 4, 2010. After this date, regular registration rates will apply regardless of when the form is received by the NCAFP. NOTE: Any registrations received without payment will be placed on our Waiting List until payment is received in full.

Social Activities

Fourth of July Family Celebration & Reception Sunday, July 4, 2010 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Brighton Conference Center

Join us in the Registration Foyer and the Exhibit Hall (located in the Brighton Conference Center that is next door to the Embassy Suites Hotel) on Sunday Evening from 4pm to 7pm for yummy ice cream treats, light snacks and cold lemonade. This is a terrific opportunity for you to meet with exhibitors and entertain your family upon arrival and hotel check-in. Free for registered attendees and their families, this event includes light refreshments, family fun, music, and terrific raffle drawings. The NCAFP Registration Desk will also be open during this time, so plan to pick up your program materials and enjoy a family friendly Fourth of July Celebration and Reception.

$15 for Children/Youth (16 to 3 yrs)
Children under 2 are admitted free.

Good Vibrations at the Carolina Opry
Monday, July 5, 2010 - 7:00 pm

The best music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s blended with rich multimedia screens, special effects and elaborate costumes, all performed live by the award winning cast of the Carolina Opry. This fast-paced high-energy show will take you back to the decades that brought us the best in American popular music – the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Cindi Lauper, James Brown, Tina Turner and even KISS, just to name a few. Good Vibrations is a 90-minute, no-intermission, virtual tour of the glory days of American popular music. Tickets are $29 for adults and $15 for youth (High school age and under). Transportation is on your own. Doors open at 7:00 pm; show starts at 8:00 pm. Concession stand with light refreshments is available.

Great Golf at Arcadian Shores

Be ready to tee off Wednesday afternoon for a round of golf at the Arcadian Shores Golf Course. Created by Rees Jones, Kingston Plantation’s own Arcadian Shores is the perfect place for groups, golf buddies and families to come together. A boxed lunch will be provided to all golfers. Limited Tee times begin at 1:36 pm – reserve yours today! (No denim or spiked golf shoes allowed. Collared shirts required.) Fee is $70 person. No refunds available.
