The NCAFP Councils

The NCAFP Councils serve as a vital resource to the Academy's leadership. They provide a cross-section of experience and knowledge and allow for continuity of thought and cooperation on a host of important health care topics. Council members meet face-to-face twice per year as well as electronically on an on-going basis, to provide input on current issues and topics to the NCAFP and family medicine.

The NCAFP Councils may name Task Forces to address specific issues, each reporting to the Council that created them. All councils report directly to the NCAFP Board of Directors and are encouraged to develop related resolutions for submission to the NCAFP Board, NCMS House of Delegates and/or AAFP Congress of Delegates. All resolutions are reviewed/approved by the Academy Board before being sent to other organizations. Council Chairs will be named annually by the President.

The NCAFP Committees

The NCAFP Committees serve to support the infrastructure of the NCAFP as outlined in the bylaws and other governing documents. Unless otherwise stated, committees will be asked to meet twice per year during the regularly scheduled Spring Family Physicians Weekend and the annual Winter meeting. Committee Chairs are appointed by the President annually (unless otherwise stated).
