NCAFP Past President Dr. Bill Hedrick ('75), today celebrates his 50th year in private practice as a solo family physician.
Dr. Hedrick opened his solo family medicine practice on July 2, 1962, and still has no plans on stopping. Dr. Hedrick continues to work full-time, make house calls, and most recently, implemented a web-based EHR in his practice. To recognize the milestone, the Academy presented Dr. Hedrick with a special resolution yesterday during its Mid-Summer Family Medicine Digest. Dr. Hedrick is presenting a lecture on depression, entitled, 'A New Model of Mental & Emotional Illness.' WRAL TV in Raleigh is presenting a small feature on Dr. Hedrick's career during tonight's TarHeel Traveler segment. An article highlighting Hedrick's unique accomplishment will be featured in next month's NC Family Physician.
Raleigh's WRAL TV did a Tar Heel Traveler segment on Dr. Hedrick's milestone. It can be viewed online at http://www.wral.com/lifestyles/travel/video/11274401/ .
Congratulations!
